چکیده

Background Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) feature-tracking (FT) allows the quantitative assessment of complex ventricular mechanics such as strain, twist and untwist. LV twist results from the dynamic interplay between systolic clockwise rotation of the base and a counterclockwise rotation of the apex followed by untwisting during diastole. We sought to determine whether strain, myocardial twist and untwist rates could be measured by CMR-FT and hypothesized that twist and untwist rates would be reduced in patients with amyloid disease as a consequence of systolic and diastolic dysfunction.

Relationship between Late Gadolinium Enhancement Extent in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Severity of Coronary Artery Disease in Old Myocardial Infarction

Purpose: To assess the relationship between the severity of coronary arteries involvement and the extent and pattern of myocardial scars in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance of patients with history of remote myocardial infarction. Materials and Methods: The Cardiac Magnetic Resonance images of sixty patients with history of remote ST segment or non-ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were ...

Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Myocardial Feature Tracking

Abstract—Heart failure–induced cardiovascular morbidity and mortality constitute a major health problem worldwide and result from diverse pathogeneses, including coronary artery disease, nonischemic cardiomyopathies, and arrhythmias. Assessment of cardiovascular performance is important for early diagnosis and accurate management of patients at risk of heart failure. During the past decade, car...

Evaluation of tissue doppler echocardiography and T2* magnetic resonance imaging in iron load of patients with thalassemia major

Background: Iron-mediated cardiomyopathy is the main complication of thalassemia major (TM) patients. Therefore, there is an important clinical need in the early diagnosis and risk stratification of patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of tissue doppler imaging (TDI) to study cardiac iron overload in patients with TM using T2* magnetic resonance (MR) as the gold-standard...

Feature-tracking cardiovascular magnetic resonance as a novel technique for the assessment of mechanical dyssynchrony.

BACKGROUND Myocardial tagging using cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) is the gold-standard for the assessment of myocardial mechanics. Feature-tracking cardiovascular magnetic resonance (FT-CMR) has been validated against myocardial tagging. We explore the potential of FT-CMR in the assessment of mechanical dyssynchrony, with reference to patients with cardiomyopathy and healthy controls....

Cardiovascular magnetic resonance myocardial feature tracking predicts severity of wall motion abnormalities following acute coronary syndromes

Background Left ventricular wall motion assessment following acute myocardial infarction (AMI) allows prediction of functional recovery. Current methods are based upon visual assessment, with inherent operator variability. CMR myocardial feature tracking (CMR-FT) is a recently introduced technique for tissue voxel motion tracking on standard steady-state free precession (SSFP) images to derive ...
